Manage surfaces
Manages surfaces which you an assign to other objects (e.g. bar assemblies). A surface can be a color (e.g. RAL 9017), or also a surface treatment (anodized, brushed).
Surfaces can be saved in libraries (*.olbx) for general use.
The surface can be output when labeling or during the evaluation. With some objects (e.g. bars) they have an effect on the visual display.
When you run the command, the Dialog box Surface manager is opened, where you can manage surfaces.

In the dialog box you will find on the left side the display section with a preview. On the right side you can see the operating section with the tabs Palette and Manager.

The designation of the current palette is shown above the display section. The tiles in the preview represent the surfaces which have been defined in the palette. If a color has been assigned, it is displayed accordingly.

The list shows the names and designations of the surfaces. Mark a surface here if you would like to change its properties.
Add
Inserts a new surface at the end of the list.
You can specify the name, designation, etc. in the Properties section.
Remove
Deletes the marked surface from the list.
Sort
Opens the Dialog box Sequence, where you can sort the surfaces or their sequence.

Name
Defines the name of the surface detail.
The name is independent of the language and must be unique.
Designation
Here you can specify a language-dependent label for the object. You select a language from the list and add the appropriate text in the line below. You proceed like this for each language.

Opens the Dialog box Designation, where you can conveniently enter the label in several languages.
Item
Opens the Dialog box Item, where you can select an item number.

Color
Assigns a color to the current surface.
If you tick the box, you can choose a color using the AutoCAD dialog box from the sections Index Color, True Color or Color Books. You will find further information about the Color dialog box in the AutoCAD documentation.
Dialog box section Label
Name
Specifies the name of the surface when labeling, e.g. RAL 7001.
Designation
Specifies the national language designation of the surface when labeling, e.g. silver gray.
Tab Manager
You will find a detailed description of the functions of the manager in the Chapter Management of objects.
OK
Closes the dialog box and saves the settings made.
Cancel
Closes the dialog box and the settings made are discarded.
