Dialog box Insulation
db_scc_dmto
Under the dialog box title, you will find the Quick access with functions for object management. Below that is the Preview on the left and the Operating section on the right with various drop-down menus.
Quick access
dialog_verwaltung.png
Important functions for object management are arranged in the quick access area.
Open
Opens an existing object.
For this, the Dialog box Select objects is displayed, where you can select a saved object. You will find further information on this in the section Object selection.
Save
Saves the object without having to specify a new name. When you save an unnamed object, the Dialog box Save is displayed. You will find information on this in the section Saving objects.
Save as
Saves the object under a new name. To do this, the Dialog box Save is displayed. You will find information on this in the section Saving objects.
Select object
Brings an object from the drawing into the editor. For this, the dialog box is temporarily closed and an input request follows for the object selection.
Saves the current object as favorite. You do not need to specify a name; after saving, a brief note appears which you have to confirm with OK. You will find further information in the section Saving and using favorites.
Use default
Restores the default settings (system or user defaults) in the dialog box or resets the dialog box to the original state.
Save as default
Saves the current settings as user default.
Remove default
Removes the user defaults and restores the system defaults. The button is inactive when no user defaults have been saved.
Preview
The preview is primarily intended for visual checks and shows the particular object with the current properties.
Operating section
There are drop-down menus in the operating section:
The options in the drop-down menus are variable depending on the creation method. They also differ for editing insulation. Below you will find a description of all available options.
Drop-down menu Properties
Type
Defines the insulation type:
• Soft Creates soft insulation with standard infill, wavy lines.
• Hard Creates hard insulation with standard infill, zig-zag lines.
Method
Determines the method of generation. Depending on the chosen method, a corresponding input prompt will be displayed after you close the dialog box with OK.
• Straight Creates straight insulation.
• Arc Creates arc-shaped insulation.
• Wedge Creates wedge-shaped insulation.
• Donut Creates donut-shaped insulation.
• Area Fills a freely shaped area with insulating layers.
• Line Creates an insulation as a continuous series of lines.
Corner joint
The option is only displayed if you have selected the continuous series of lines method. Here you can define the butt joint:
• End of segment, continuous Creates insulation whose segments pass through the vertices before the next section.
• Continuous alternating Creates alternate continuous and joining segments.
• End of segment, butt joint Creates insulation whose segments in the vertices touch the next section.
• Bumping alternating Creates alternate joining and continuous segments.
• Mitered Creates insulation segments with mitered joints.
Islands
Switches the island detection on or off.
Thickness of insulation
Defines the thickness dimension of the insulating layers.
Start thickness
Defines the start thickness of the insulation.
End thickness
Defines the end thickness of the insulation.
You can specify the dimensions in different units of measurement, for example 6 cm, 3 1/4", etc. If you omit the unit, the current drawing unit is used.
Defines the dimension in the drawing. For this, the dialog box is temporarily closed and you can define the dimension by clicking two points.
Opens the Dialog box Item, where you can select an item number. You will find a detailed explanation on items in the section Item.
Drop-down menu Form
Infill
• Outline Creates an insulation without infill.
• Filled Creates a filled insulation. The infill depends on the type: Soft (wavy lines) and Hard (zig-zag lines).
• Hatched Creates insulation with hatched infill.
Hatch
• System Uses the hatching that has been defined in Dialog box System layer for the insulation.
• Material Uses the hatching that has been defined in Dialog box Material properties for the material. This option is only available if you have selected a material (not SYSTEM) for the insulation.
Opens the Dialog box Label. You will find further information on this in the section Label.
End of program
When you click OK, the dialog box is terminated and an input request follows dependent on the selected type of construction.
You can terminate the Dialog box Insulation directly after calling the command by pressing the Enter key to access the input request. In this way you have the possibility of very quickly creating several insulations with identical properties.
E.g.: You have just created an insulation with certain properties. Now press the Enter key twice (once to repeat the Insulation command and a second time to terminate the dialog box immediately) and draw a further insulation with the same properties.
